State media to blame for attracting outsiders, trouble to Spring Weekend

As soon as UConn starts getting prepared (and excited) for Spring Weekend, the media begins to spread the news immediately. While of course it is no surprise that our biggest party weekend will make the 10 p.m. news, maybe it isn't the smartest idea to broadcast it to the entire state of Connecticut. (8) comments

It's an awfully weird feeling. I've been having a lot of them lately: weird feelings about finishing up my last semester as an undergraduate. Weird feelings about not knowing where I'll be living in a year. Such feelings are certainly understandable at such an unprecedented time in one's life: the transition from college to "the real world" (or grad school). (0) comments

According to U.S. News & World Report's recent rankings, at least a couple of dozen state universities are ranked higher than UConn. It should come as a surprise because Connecticut is the richest state in the richest country in the world, which shows that the financial concerns (until recently) and dedicated faculty are not guarantees of rigorous standards. Does Hogan have a Facebook yet? I have a lot of Spring Weekend photos I need to tag. It's kind of sad when college makes you so poor that the only thing in your refrigerator to drink is leftover beer from Spring Weekend. I just noticed that the bathroom stalls are made by Hiney Hiders. (2) comments
