1:30 a.m. - Police charged Matthew Willett, 20, of Niantic with second-degree unlawful restraint and second-degree breach of peace. Officers received a report that a male had approached a female by the School of Business and grabbed her wrist tightly, causing her to fear for her safety. After a brief investigation, the male was identified as Willett.
7:25 a.m. - Police charged David Lim, 19, of Bedminster, N.J. with sixth-degree larceny. Lim turned himself in to police after learning of a warrant for his arrest from Rockville Superior Court. The warrant stemmed from an incident on Dec. 10, 2007 during which Lim shoplifted several items from the Co-op.

12:06 a.m. - Police charged Stephen Odell, 22, of Niantic with operating a vehicle while under the influence. Odell was the operator of a motor vehicle involved in a minor accident in the Farmer Brown Parking Lot just off of King Hill Road. Odell was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and was subjected to a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed.
8:51 p.m. - Police charged Steven Banfield, 23, of Mansfield with possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal manufacturing, distribution or selling of cannabis or a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance or less than 4 oz. of marijuana. Banfield was stopped while he was driving on the "C" Project Service Road for failing to have his rear license plate illuminated. After a brief investigation, Banfield was found to be in possession of 13.7 grams of marijuana and a digital scale.

12:37 a.m. - Police charged Minyu Chung, 29, of Storrs with improper passing and operating a vehicle while under the influence. Police observed a vehicle operated by Chung pass over the double yellow line at a lighted crosswalk. Police subsequently stopped Chung and suspected her of operating under the influence of alcohol. She was given a series of field sobriety tests, which she failed.
