Name: Trisha-Ann Hawthorne
Sport: Track and Field
Year: Freshman
Height: 5-foot-8

How did it feel to set a school record? It felt great because it was one of my main events and there was a lot of tough competition. I was all smiles afterwards and got a lot of congratulations.
What are your goals for the season? I want to qualify for nationals and make All-American.
What does the team need to do to win the Big East? Everyone has to stay focused on and off the field and we need everyone to contribute for us to do it.
Do you have any superstitions or rituals during meets? I say a prayer before each race and dedicate my races to my grandfather.
What do you when you are not training? I study and try to get some sleep.
Why did you choose UConn? I knew they had a great athletic program and I knew I could really develop myself here. I also liked it because it is close to home.
What is your favorite thing about being a UConn athlete? I like having fun with my teammates, we all have great friendships
Where is your favorite place to eat on campus? The market in the Student Union.
The Weekly Honor Roll:
Micah Truax, softball: She hit .556 (10-for-18) with one home run, three RBI and three runs scored in six games last week.
A.J. Siekierski, golf: The senior shot a one-under par 70 Saturday to lead the University of Connecticut golf team in action at the Thunderbird Invitational hosted by Arizona State University at the Karsten Golf Course.
