Relay For Life
A Huge Success
On behalf of the entire Relay for Life Planning Committee, I would like to say thank you to the UConn community. Relay for Life, in its 5th year at UConn, was a huge success and it was wonderful to see so many students participating in such a worthwhile cause. We thank the faculty, staff and student survivors for your courage and willpower to fight this terrible disease and we were honored to celebrate with you at Relay.
This was my first Relay at UConn, and I wasn't sure what to expect. Personally, I couldn't believe how all of our efforts added up to such an amazing event. It really is fantastic how students can come together as such a powerful force against such a devastating disease. Though rain may have dampened the morning's activities, the event surpassed expectations and the UConn community's donations exceeded last year's total, raising over $93,000. Once again, thank you from your American Cancer Society and everyone on the Relay for Life Planning Committee. We look forward to seeing you at next year's Relay! Thank you.
