3:50 p.m. - Police charged Sara Parzuchowski, 19, of Bethel with sixth-degree larceny. Co-op staff observed Parzuchowski take items from the store and attempt to leave without paying for them. Upon further investigation, it was found that she had stolen two items.

4:15 p.m. - Police charged Joshua Massey, 19, of Hamden with sixth-degree larceny. Co-op staff observed Massey take two items from the store without paying for them. The total value of the merchandise was $31.34.



6:04 p.m. - Police charged Joshua Drake, 18, of Lebanon with possession of a controlled substance or less than 4 oz. of marijuana. Drake was a passenger in a vehicle that had been stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Hunting Lodge Road. After a brief investigation, he was found to be in possession of 24.6 grams of marijuana.



6:11 p.m. - Police charged Timothy Rea, 18, of Lebanon with having a mutilated licnse plate, obstructing the view from his windshield and possession of weapons in a motor vehicle. A UConn police officer observed Rea operating a vehicle with objects hanging from the rearview mirror. The officer also observed that Rea's registration plate was obstructed by a license plate frame. Rea was stopped on Hunting Lodge Road, and after a brief investigation, he was found to have an aluminum baseball bat under the operator's seat, which he said he uses for protection.



7:15 p.m. - Police charged Jonathan Chilicki, 20, of South Windsor with window tint, possession of a controlled substance or less than 4 oz. of marijuana and possession of alcohol by a minor. Chilicki was stopped on Hunting Lodge Road for having dark tinted windows. After a brief investigation, he was found to be in possession of approximately 1.2 grams of marijuana and 30 cans of beer. His driver's license showed that he was 20 years old and under the legal age to possess alcohol.



8:13 p.m. - Police charged Abdaleh Mohamoud, 20, of West Hartford with having a mutilated license plate or improper attachment on plate and possession of a controlled substance or less than 4 oz. of marijuana. Police observed that a vehicle by Mohamoud had a plastic border surrounding its license plate. Police stopped Mohamoud on Hunting Lodge Road, and after a brief investigation, he was found to be in possession of 13.1 grams of marijuana.

Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that you can get pulled over for having a plastic rim around your license plate or objects hanging from your rearview mirror??

Im curious..most of these arrests arose from vehicle stops...are these part of the 51 or so said to be arrested at Spring weekend? If they are, its pretty misleading. (Continued…)
