Thanks to the Broadway musical "Rent," most everyone knows that there are 525,600 minutes in a year. That's equivalent to 365 days and roughly 52 weeks. Yet, in the academic year, there are fewer total days, meaning fewer total minutes. That in no way, however, means that fewer landmark events caught the eye of Americans everywhere.
