This Saturday Feb 1, The Jorgensen Theater at the University of Connecticut will be opening its stage to a world-renowned, award-winning singing group called Ladysmith Black Mumbazo. The group, a South African a cappella group, has been dazzling audiences across the globe for decades. The group became famous in 1986 when singer Paul Simon brought them into the public eye when the group was featured on his award winning album "Graceland," according to the Jorgensen website. The group, which blends the sounds of their traditional South African heritage with Christian music, has not failed to impress at music awards either, winning the Grammy for "Best World Music Album" just this past Sunday. This was its fourth Grammy with a total of 16 nominations. They also have worked with a multitude of famous artists such as Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson and many more.
