Men's track: UConn to compete in outdoor championship this weekend in Florida

After winning the American Athletic Conference indoor championship, the UConn men's track and field team will go for the season sweep at the outdoor championship this weekend in Tampa, Florida.
With the AAC championship already here, the seniors on the team are about to compete in possibly the last meet of their careers.
Conference weekend is the time of year when individual performances are great, but they do not mean anything unless the team wins.
"Going into conference weekend the atmosphere around the team is great. We are ready for the upcoming weekend," Captain Darnell Cummings said.
Many of this year's outdoor meets have been against teams outside of its conference from up and down the east coast, but UConn has a chance to show, once again, that they are the best team in the conference and one of the best in the Northeast.
"We know University of Houston, Louisville and South Florida are all going to be tough teams to take down, but we are confident in ourselves that we are going to be able to go out this weekend and win another title," Cummings said.
After a couple of solid performances in a row, Cummings had to add that, "I personally feel great going into this weekend, and have no doubt that we have a great shot at sweeping the titles this track season."
