Freshamn quarterback Richard Lagow looks set to leave the UConn football program.
The Plano, Texas native tweeted Tuesday afternoon stating that he would be “looking into opportunities,” and also attached a photo that further explained his intentions.
“I want to thank the University of Connecticut for the opportunity to attend an outstanding university on a spectacular campus with great people,” the note read. “I wanted to make certain I honored my commitment to the University and supporters and competed through the summer camp…I am headed back home and wish the players I have met the absolute best.”
Lagow’s commitment to UConn has wavered in the past, as the freshman considered other alternatives around National Signing Day, despite originally deciding upon becoming a Husky in June of 2012.
Eventually, he decided to sign his letter of intent and enroll at the university, but his stint has apparently proved short-lived, though the school could not be immediately reached to confirm the news.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound quarterback threw for 1,968 yards and scored 12 touchdowns rushing and threw eight touchdown passes as a high school senior.
