With the regular season finished, the UConn men’s golf team is set for the postseason, with the Big East Championship beginning Friday in Orlando before the NCAA East Regional begins on May 17.

It has been an up and down season for the Huskies. Every member of the team has had his moment of contribution this season, but multiple golfers have not gotten into their rhythms at the same time and it has shown in the results.

Four Huskies are entering the final tournaments of their careers at UConn. Matthew Dziubina, Matt Carroll, Jeb Buchanan and Adam Vaccari are all graduating at the semester’s end.

Dziubina has been the leader of the Huskies all season, finishing higher than his teammates in almost every competition.

Vaccari doesn’t compete often, as only five players are eligible to score for the team. UConn’s five normally consists of Dziubina, Carroll, Buchanan, junior Brian Hughes and freshman Chris Wiatr. If UConn can get all five to get into a groove at the same time, there’s no knowing how far they can go.

UConn didn’t compete against Big East opponents often, but in their last outing, UConn placed 14th at the Wolfpack Spring Open. Louisville finished fifth, 26 strokes ahead of the Huskies.
